TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - As local merchants look to get in on the fun ahead of the big game, a Topeka entrepreneur is putting a creative spin on Kansas City apparel.
H&H Designs creates custom T-shirts in minutes. Owner Samantha Hill makes her own original designs, putting her creative touch on KC gear. Men Underwear Boxer
“We’re hoping we can get lots of people into some cute gear,” she says.
Her designs cater to the football fashionistas.
“Faux glitter, fun fonts like script-y fonts or like just creative different shapes type of things,” says Hill. “Those are what people are really coming in for right now. They’re really enjoying just that creative spin on Kansas City.”
“We love catering to somebody who just wants something fun to wear,” she added. “Maybe not a classic design, but something just a little bit different than you’ll see at the bigger stores.”
You won’t find designs like hers anywhere else.
“They really all come out of my head,” says Hill. “Something that’s really important to us is that our designs are original to us. Our Kansas City designs you’ll only ever find here.”
The shirts are pressed to expel moisture, the design placed, pressed again, and viola. The whole process takes about a minute, Hill says customers love having an original design put on a custom T-shirt in just minutes.
“It has been a lot of fun around here,” she says. “We’ve definitely been very busy our sales are up a lot too because Topeka really came out and had a good time making their own shirts off our build-your-own shirt bar.”
And of course, they didn’t forget about the Swifties out there.
“We have some really fun, I’ll have to pull up my friendship bracelet design,” she says. “That’s one of our favorites that’s been really popular. It’s just kind of a little spin on that. Inspired by Taylor for sure. But just something different than you’ll see anywhere else.”
Her creativity doesn’t stop at Kansas City.
“We have all of our local schools, high schools, elementary schools, middle schools,” says Hill. “We’re Washburn and K State licensed so you can come in and pick from all of those designs. We keep hundreds of garments in stock. So you pick your design, you pick a garment and we’ll make it up in just a couple minutes.”
