Berkefeld introduce the Berkal advanced high performance disc filter

Developed to treat water polluted by cooling, transport or cleaning uses, Berkefeld have launched Berkal advanced, a high-performance disc filter. Water with high or low pH factors can be cleaned, enabling the water to be recycled and reused in the production cycle.

The Berkefeld disc filter combines the advantages of in-depth filtration with those of a screen filter, taking up dirt at specified filtration grades. Flow rates can be up to several thousand cubic metres of water per hour and because the filter elements are backflushed in rotation, a continual filtrate flow is possible. ofite filter press

The filter takes up less space, claim Berkefeld, than comparable processes, and there are no additional costs for filter cartridges. The filter can be used as a stand-alone solution or as a component in a complete water treatment plant - for example, before reverse osmosis or ultrafiltration. It can also be used in industry, for colling water, treating process water, surface water and wastewater.
