Mangaluru: Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) celebrated the inauguration of a centralized nursery featuring a polyhouse and shade house on Thursday. These structures, designed to protect plants from varying weather conditions, provide an optimal environment for plant growth, especially beneficial for landscape plants.

The polyhouse, spanning 384 sqm, is equipped with climate control systems to maintain the required temperature and humidity for ornamental indoor plants like calathea, philodendron, orchid, anthurium, dracaena, bromeliads, and ferns. On the other hand, the 264 sqm shade house allows 50% of natural light to penetrate, supporting the growth of outdoor and indoor tropical plants. Beginning Horticulture Class
