The Ahmedabad-based manufacturer Line O Matic celebrated the completion of its 25 years in the print industry. The hon'ble chief minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel, also graced the event which transpired on 6 January 2023.

Uday Patel, founder and chairman of Line O Matic, in his address, recapped the journey of the paper, paper stationery and paper converting machine manufacturing company he founded and how through the years, it has created an impact in the education sector as well as contributed towards the growing economy. "We promise to expand their stronghold through consistent and quality efforts," Patel said, to 1,000 guests, which included clients, associates, vendors, employees, and their family members. Line O Matic's journey began 50 years ago under the banner of GGI (Gunvantray Graphic Industries) brand. However, in November 1997, Patel registered the company under a new name, Line O Matic. In an interaction with PrintWeek, Patel had reminisced about the first machine Line O Matic produced. "It was a roll-to-sheet flexo ruling machine. "We have evolved that machine from 100 mtr per minute to 500 mtr per minute; we kept improving our machines. We are the only machinery manufacturer in India making roll-to-book machines." Patel added, "We were lucky enough to have had no competition in India then, yet I set my machine prices at fair value. I don't want to take undue advantage of the position we have created for ourselves. These fair practices, including the excellent quality of our machines, have helped us expand to over 80 countries."

In the last 25 years, Lino O Matic has installed 3,000+ machines worldwide. The company is present in 25 states and five union territories in India. "Looking back, it seems like 25 years have been a long time ago. However, in these years, we have successfully carved a place in the paper industry," said Swapnil Patel, executive management at Line O Matic. He added, "We have delivered cost-effective quality machines, which is what our customers want. If you look around, only a few foreign-made machines are installed in India in notebook manufacturing, which is where our success lies. Lino O Matic also utilised the occasion to launch an online shopping portal for their export division. Nirav Parikh, general manager of the company, did the honours.
