The display has been around since 2017 creating memories for families to enjoy.

Candy Cane Lane, along with two other light displays in Louisiana, were recently recognized by Forbes Magazine as some of the top 100 light displays in the United States.

Ben Hanson, co-owner of Candy Cane Lane says, “it’s a tremendous blessing. I mean, it’s way beyond what we dreamed for, hoped for and dreamed of.”

Hanson said his display has brought in not only locals, but also people from out of town.

“They were here visiting family for Thanksgiving our opening weekend and they were actually from Wales, so that was pretty cool,” said Hanson.

President and CEO of Discover Monroe-West Monroe Alana Cooper said Candy Cane Lane has been a hit all around the community.

“It’s sensational and people respond to it. They get really excited about it and travel for that. They see it through our marketing channels, but also again, they visually see it on the Interstate,” said Cooper.

Cooper said having locals and visitors going to Candy Cane Lane will create a huge economic impact on local shops, restaurants and hotels in the area.

“We’re a great opportunity for people to come and spend their money and get their Christmas shopping done, but also have those memories made with the Christmas lights and especially Candy Cane Lane,” said Cooper.

Hanson states why people should come to enjoy the lights.

“The reason, you know, that we’ve got this place is so that folks can just spend quality, family time together,” said Hanson.

Candy Cane Lane is open every night until Jan. 4 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
