RTD iced tea Snapple is already available in 16 oz. 100% rPET bottles in West Coast markets and will continue to roll out across the US through early next year.
100% rPET bottles for the bottled water brand CORE (acquired by KDP in 2018) will hit shelves early next year.
Across KDP’s portfolio of more than 125 brands, 20% of the material used in packaging is currently made from post-consumer recycled (PCR) content. Snapple and CORE's transition will take this up four percentage points.

Danone’s natural spring water brand Volvic will be packaged in 100% rPET bottles in Switzerland and Germany by the end of the year; while 100% rPET bottles wil be used across its whole US portfolio from 2021.
California will make it mandatory for plastic bottles to contain 50% recycled content by 2030. But how easy will it be for brands to reach this goal?
California is the first US state to require beverage containers to use a set amount of recycled plastic: starting with 15% recycled content in 2022 and increasing to 50% in 2030.
