BBinfinite adds Ceramitech ceramic bearing upgrade kits for Mavic, DT Swiss hubs - Bikerumor

BBinfinite already makes some of the smoothest bottom brackets on the market thanks to their one-piece shell design that ensures perfect alignment of the bearings. Even so, they offer a Ceramitech ceramic bearing upgrade there, and now they offer it for Mavic and DT Swiss hubs, too. They can’t control the shell they’re going into, but the bearings get a chrome steel races that get special finish polishing before they’re loaded with ABEC-5 level ceramic bearings inside.

Their first bearing sets are available for Mavic and DT Swiss hubs, and they claim they’re good for saving 7-9 watts. That should buy you a few extra seconds. Use their online selector to find the right bearing set for your wheels on their website. For now, your options are DT 240s, and Mavic Ksyrium SR/SL, Cosmic SL, R-Sys and Carbone, . Retail is $275, available now. thrust bearing types

The worst customer service I’ve ever encountered. When there is a problem with their product they don’t work with you. You’re stuck with an expensive loss. Buyer beware.

Rick, this is Gary with BBInfinite. What product did you purchase? Give me an order number and I’ll look it up. We pride ourselves on our customer service and our high quality, Made in the USA products. I’m keen to get to the bottom of your problem and solve it. Call me if you want. I prefer to speak with people who express dissatisfaction. The number is on our site, or you can email me at gary@bbinfinite.com. We’ll take care of you.

Wow! Going through the bad experience of dealing with BBInfinites really questionable customer service for my issue of compromised Ceramitec WS2 BB bearings. (the most expensive coated ones). Experience is prompting me to look at Enduro, or a high quality steel (NTN) options. But, to the point, customer service is (has been) extremely poor.

As a follow up to a recent customer service experience that I had with BBInfinite, (per my OP comment above), COO and Co-Owner, Gary Mailhiot reached out to me with a very sincere apology of the less than high standard that is the BBInfinite rule. As it turns out, in the wake of severe weather in the south (tornado’s), the BBI staff was operating with a very limited and minimal staff. The particular individual that responded to my request for service was new, and rather untrained in the technical and warranty matters of BBInfinite products and customer servicing.

BBInfinite has created high performance BB (one piece shells), bearing and pulley products that stand at the pinnacle in the market they compete in, the highest standard.  BBInfinite, and arguably Hambini, are the best of the best. In particular their high quality one piece bottom bracket shells. BBInfinite has exceptional bearings too. (Hambini sources primarily steel bearings).  BBInfinite offers two incredible ceramic bears (hybrids, ceramic balls and chromed steel races), and one full (ABEC-7) steel bearing option.

For me, in my SL5 S-Works Tarmac and my SL6 Tarmac PRO they’re both kitted with BBInfinite’s one piece BB, coupled with their Ceramitec WS2 bearings, and their 12T/14T pulleys. Since 2018 the BBInfinite one piece BB shell not only eliminated BB creaking (plaguing my 2016 SL5 SW Tarmac), but with their Ceramitec (WS2) coated bearing created the smoothest, stiffest, fastest, watt saving components and rider experience that I could noticeably feel over the original components that they replaced.

Best in class engineering, manufacturing, informative educational service related videos, and now, I can confirm, without hesitation outstanding post purchase, (even years after my original purchases), customer service and satisfaction. My impatience just got the best of me!  Oh, lastly, everything they do, from manufacturing and customer service is right here in the U.S.A!  A huge time saving and cost benefit. (No VAT and oversea shipping and customs fees).  Don’t hesitate, go with BBInfinite!  Thank you Gary and Wes for your exceptional products, class and service.  Mike/Seattle

I’ve found them to be very helpful. Product is solid as well. Not my cupatea, but it’s a good product for people that are simply tired of the creaks.

i also had good luck with their customer service. more than once. good people.

I have also had great customer service.

Ceramic bearings with steel races ……not a great combo……the bearings will wear out the races as they are harder.

Why do you say it’s not a good combo? You think there’s no wear in a conventional ball bearing because the balls and races are the same material/hardness? These bearings will just primarily wear the races rather than both the balls and races.

I love geeking out on this stuff, and the evolution of bikes and the products in general that make up our bikes have come so far, that you’re left with minimalistic gains in weight and performance, at a pretty high cost. Nonetheless, I love me some Bikerumor where I get to see this stuff and read a little bit about the companies behind these amazing products.

7-9 watts? 1-3 is typically the gain from good wheel bearings to the very best. They must be comparing their bearings to triangular bearings.

That’d be huge huh! Lab testing gone crazy

If they make every size to fit every 240, they’ll have pretty much all hubs covered…

no joke. DT240 front TA100 CL bearing size threw me for a loop.

If You are “flying” rider, You do not need any bearings 😀

The “DT Kit” is listed as including bearings which don’t fit the hubset indicated. Nice.

I bought them for my DT 240’s and they fit, so….
