International. Manufacturer Armstrong Fluid Technology recently announced that it has expanded its family of vertical in-line fire pumps.
Similarly, the company specified that these solutions have a constant speed and a maximum flow rate of 500 USGPM for the 60 Hz and 50 Hz markets, also presenting new high-pressure ratings of up to 160 PSI. installing a sewage pump
Armstrong's new vertical in-line fire pumps eliminate the need for off-center piping and motor realignment. They also use less floor space than comparable horizontal split shell designs.
Other features of these new models include:
• Smaller motor than comparable pumps at the same working point.
• Much lower environmental footprint than standard diesel pumps.
• UL/ULC and FM approvals.
• Lower installation cost and less space occupied.
• Lower pump cost compared to horizontal split casing and end suction designs with equivalent functions.
• Vertical in-line design to eliminate in-site inertia base, offset piping, and alignments between the motor and pump.
• Vertical positioning of the motor to take up to 60% less space compared to horizontal split-case designs.
• Suitable for tight spaces that cannot be accessed by other fire pump configurations.
"Armstrong is one of only four manufacturers that can offer a VIL fire pump that reaches 160 psi at 500 USGPM," said Michael DeMille, the company's global fire pump supply manager. "This new model is an excellent addition to our existing vertical in-line pump series," he added.
Armstrong Fluid Technology is committed to sustainability, noting that in 2019, Armstrong signed the Zero Carbon Building Pledge, a program launched by the World Green Building Council. As a signatory to the program, Armstrong has committed to ensuring that all of its offices and manufacturing facilities operate at zero carbon emissions by 2030.
