TMK and IRE POLUS will introduce laser technologies in the production of pipe products - News :: TMK

The Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) and NTO IRE-Polus (founder and one of the basic companies of the IPG Photonics Corporation scientific and technical group) signed a program for the joint creation and implementation of laser technologies in the manufacture of trumpets at the TMK sites. The document was signed at the 27th International Industrial Exhibition "Metal-Expo'2021".

The program is designed to increase the efficiency of the production of pipes and tube parts through the use of laser technologies, and is also aimed at finding new areas of implementation of these technologies. The parties intend to implement a number of projects in various areas until 2023: the development of new high -tech products with increased operational characteristics, improving production and repair technologies to achieve the best economic effect, the development of high -tech technologies and modernization of equipment. In particular, partners intend to use laser technologies for welding pipes and pipeline parts to create a new generation “new generation pipeline” from high -strength steel. Within the framework of the program, it is also planned to use the technology of laser welding on casing pipes and pipe products from stainless steels.

Another project of cooperation will be the use of laser surfacing and hardening to restore the performance of the tool, parts and equipment for the production of pipes. The technology will increase the resource of the equipment and improve the performance of products, such as corrosion resistance, high temperatures, shock loads and abrasion. Representatives of the companies will also work out the possibility of using manual laser welding in the repair of welds and the body of the pipe, as well as when modernizing laboratory laser installations operating at the enterprises of TMK to create a new area on laser technologies.

“TMK constantly develops scientific and technical potential and continuously introduces innovation into the production of innovation. Laser technologies are an advanced direction, and among pipe and metallurgical companies we are the leader in their use: the specialists of our Chelyabinsk pipe factory were the first in the world to develop and mastered the laser welding of longitudinal seams of large diameter pipes. A program of cooperation with the global leader in the fiber -fiber industry - NTO IRE -Polus will allow TMK to develop this direction and reach a new technological level. During the implementation of the program, the company will open even wider possibilities for using such technologies in various TMK industries, ”said Sergey Chikalov, First Deputy General Director of TMK and Development.

“The introduction of our fiber lasers and the development of new innovative technologies for their use within the framework of real production to achieve maximum economic efficiency of production processes is the priority task of the IPG company. In cooperation with such an industry leader as TMK, together we will undoubtedly achieve excellent tangible results and once again demonstrate that our technologies bring multiple benefit, ”said Nikolai Evtikhiev, general director of the IRE-Polus NTO.
