It’s not the holidays, but Starbucks is touting new cups.
The coffee chain this month is rolling out single-use cold cups that it says are better for the environment, made with 10%-20% less plastic. The cups will be in U.S. and Canadian shops. Glass Cooking Lids
Also being introduced is a universal lid designed to fit all sizes of the new cup. The tall cup had to be redesigned with a wider mouth and a more squat profile to still hold 12 ounces, the company said.
The cups have features like raised dots and embossed letters to indicate size for customers and employees with low vision.
The cup has been in the works for four years.

The move is part of Starbucks’s efforts to cut its carbon, water and waste footprint by 50% and update all customer packaging to be reusable, recyclable or compostable by 2030.
The rollout extended over the next year.
