Elko Bomb Squad detonates suspected nitroglycerin bottle in Winnemucca business

The Winnemucca Police Department personnel contacted the Elko Bomb Squad (EBS) personnel regarding a bottle of suspected Nitroglycerin found in a business that was in the process of closing on Jan. 18, according to a Facebook post from the Elko Police Department.

EBS members responded to the business in the 700 block of West Winnemucca Blvd. and safely removed the bottle. Authorities say they rendered it safe by controlled detonation in a field behind the business.

No one was injured and traffic and surrounding businesses were not affected.
