The two types of candy that have been recalled are Cocco Candy Rolling Candy and Slime Licker Sour Rolling Liquid Candy. Both products contain a ball of hard candy that can detach from the package and cause a child to choke. The Cocco Candy Rolling Candy has been linked to the death of a 7-year-old girl after the candy became lodged in her throat.
Cocco Candy Rolling Candy is made in Turkey and imported by the KGR Distribution Corporation. It comes in three flavors including strawberry, tutti frutti and cola.
Slime Licker Sour Rolling Liquid Candy is produced by Candy Dynamics and usually has the words, “MEGA TOXIC WASTE” on the product. It comes in several flavors including blue razz, strawberry, black cherry and sour apple.
The candies being recalled are dangerous because they contain a detaching roller ball. This ball of hard candy can dislodge from the product and become stuck in a child’s throat. This type of candy is dangerous for children of all ages.
Toddlers and young children can also choke on hard candy, jelly beans, gum drops, caramels and chewy candy. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend avoiding all hard and chewy candies with young children.
If you have one of these recalled products in your home, throw it away immediately. Check with your children to make sure they understand not to eat this candy if they see it.

To choose a safer candy for your child, consider their age. Infants and toddlers cannot have hard or chewy candies. For young children, opt for soft candy like a chocolate bar, peanut butter cup or peppermint patty.
