ATO Automation introduces selection of solenoid valves

March 25, 2019 - As a electromechanical device, a solenoid valve can use the electric current to generate a magnetic field then operate a mechanism, the mechanism regulates the opening of fluid flow in the valve.

With the differences in the characteristics of the electricity to use, the strength of the magnetic field to generate, the mechanism of regulating fluid to use, and the characteristics of fluid to control, solenoid valves are various in type. 1 normally open solenoid valve

There are two types of ATO solenoid valves, 2-Way/3-Way Pneumatic Solenoid Valves and General Purpose Solenoid Valves. ATO solenoid valves can be used for an array of industrial applications, including general on-off control, calibration and test stands, pilot plant control loops, process control systems, and various original equipment manufacturer applications.

ATO has a selection of 2/2-way solenoid valves, which have 2 ports (1 inlet and 1 outlet) and 2 switching states (open or closed) that are electromechanically controlled. They are used to solely start/stop the flow of the media and are most commonly normally closed (power to open), so that if power fails the valve will close. They can also be designed as normally open (power to close) or bi-stable (latching).

3/2-way solenoid valves, which have 3 ports and 2 switching states that are electromechanically controlled. With 3 ports and 2 switching states, the valve can be either NC (normally closed), NO (normally open), mixing, distributing or universal. NC is most common: the valve has 1 input, 1 output, and an exhaust port. The output connects to exhaust with no power, and with power the input is connected to the output moving the media. They can also be designed as normally open (power to close) or bi-stable (latching).
