Around 5 a.m., the Oklahoma City Fire Department received a call about a fire at an industrial building near Highway 152 and Council Road. Authorities learned that a paint booth – which is a large, contained environment that makes spray painting easier – caught fire.
“Crews got there and found a paint booth inside that had a filtration system for their exhaust had some smoldering fire inside,” Battalion Chief Russell Huffman said. “So, began trying to open that up and put that fire out there. In the process of that, we noticed it went up the exhaust system up to the roof, so we had to go in and cut some inspection holes on the ventilation system and get to hot spots in there and put those out.”

Only one person was inside the building when the fire started, and they got out safely. People who work at the building had to wait to get in as crews finished their work.
