Eaton’s UM 15 Mobile Filter Unit for Hydraulic Systems | Machine Design

Eaton has expanded its range of offline filter units with the introduction of its UM 15. Designed to meet the demand for portable and efficient hydraulic fluid filtration solutions, the UM 15 is an option for a range of industries, including mining and construction.

Simone Ortner, engineering manager at Eaton’s Filtration Division, highlighted the versatility of the unit, stating in the company’s press release, “Due to its lightweight and portable design, the filter unit can be utilized in locations that larger mobile devices, requiring transportation on trolleys, cannot access.” source sintered bronze filter discs

In addition to its performance capabilities, the UM 15 is equipped with practical holders for hose lances to ensure clean and safe handling, along with an optical clogging indicator for easy monitoring of the filter element’s condition.

It weighs 33 lb (15 kg), so the unit is easy to transport and operate. It consists of a compact and robust support frame, a motor-pump unit, suction and drain hose lance with an interposed WPL spin-on filter and an optical clogging indicator from the O series. The filter system offers a pump output of 4 gpm (15 l/min) at 2,800 U/min and can be used for mineral oil-based hydraulic fluids with a viscosity of 10 to 400 mm²/s.
