GIBSON CO., Ind. (WFIE) - A veteran and his family are feeling a bit more thankful this holiday season.

It was a surprise for them.
Abbie’s mother was the one who submitted the couple for the giveaway.
14 News was there as crews put in the new furnace.
The couple says their old one wasn’t working well, so they are grateful.
“We’re looking forward to it. Our house is really old. It’s about 120 years old,” says Abbie. "Our new addition is “new edition”, so that is our coldest area of the house even with the furnace. So having an updated furnace is definitely going to be a big help."
A+ Derr have been doing this giveaway for a couple of years and plan to continue to help veterans in the community.
