Violations would be considered civil infractions. The first offense could lead to a $100 fine. The second offense may result in a $300 fine with third and subsequent offenses leading to a $500 fine.
Commissioner Tom Matthew said during Thursday’s work session the fines were excessive and that the ordinance should be sent back to the township.
Commission Chair Tim Stoll pointed out the Commissioners don’t have to approve the ordinance but they can disapprove it.
It was agreed to schedule the Ovid Township golf cart ordinance for the Commissioners work session on July 11.
