Time to garden? Here are 5 eclectic plant stores to visit

We have highlighted five of them around the city.

The Madison Greenhouse Store is located on 1354 Williamson St. It sells a variety of gardening supplies and equipment, plant species, soil and wares from local artists and customers can either shop in-store or order items online for delivery and curbside pickup. The shop's hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on the weekend. 

Red Square Flowers, with locations both at 127 State St. and 337 Mifflin St., touts itself as an upscale florist and houseplant store selling fresh flowers, floral arrangements, houseplants and planters, some of which come from Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, according to the store's website. The shop is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays at its Mifflin Street space, and noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Both locations are closed on Sundays. 

Naly's Floral Shop is located on 1203 N. Sherman Avenue, selling a variety of plant species, flowers and floral arrangements on Madison's North Side. Photographed is the interior of the store. Customers can work with the shop to make their wedding a floral oasis, and even subscribe to the business to receive flowers on a regular basis at various price points, the lowest being $35, according to the Naly's Floral Shop website. 

The shop is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Nestled inside Hilldale Shopping Center on Madison's West Side is Wildewood, at 733 Hilldale Way. Photographed is the exterior of the shop. The shops sells a wide variety of houseplant species, as well as plant supplies and home décor. 

Wildewood's hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

The business has over 1,000 types of plants at Garver. Customers can buy a plant or pot that appeals to them using a QR code that allows them to pay for wares online.
