A working LEGO popcorn machine has just popped its way into the latest LEGO Ideas review, and could one day become an integral part of your home cinema experience.
So you’ve got a giant screen, projector, surround sound speaker system, fancy reclining chairs, maybe a drinks holder or two. Good stuff. But what you don’t have is a working LEGO popcorn machine, and what home cinema setup is really complete without one of those? That’s the question posited by Mehdi Rustamov’s latest LEGO Ideas submission to rack up 10,000 votes. popcorn popper machine
Comprised of 955 pieces, this fully-working LEGO popcorn machine genuinely spits out pieces of popped corn, ready to chow down on while firing up the latest blockbuster. Only this popcorn is made of LEGO – the size of each individual piece determined the scale of the overall model – so, you know, don’t actually eat it. No matter how realistic it looks.
Watching the popcorn machine in operation can’t fail to put a smile on your face though, so make sure to head over to the project page to check out Mehdi’s animation. The entire thing is powered by a single LEGO M-Motor, and there are 15 pieces of buildable popcorn included in the proposal, along with a buildable popcorn bucket with retro red and white stripes.
This is Mehdi’s fifth LEGO Ideas project to reach the review stage, but none have yet been given the green light by the LEGO Group. We’ll find out whether this one makes the cut when the results of the second LEGO Ideas 2024 review are announced next year. Check out the full list of projects in this round in the table below.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
IF the popcorn machine made real popcorn id buy one. great idea, but can you make one that makes corn you can eat?
