Wit & Wisdom Try-On: Pants & Jeans With Comfy Waistbands - The Mom Edit

I recently fell in love with a pair of (under $100) cargo jeans from Nordstrom brand Wit & Wisdom. Yes, they are a super cute style and have a cool inset panel on the legs, but also…they have what I’m calling an Emotional Support Waistband.

Yup. But it’s hidden, so it’s not like yelling “I’m wearing jeans with a stretchy comfort panel in them!” Have no fear. I would never set you up for that. But since these were so good I figured I should do a whole try-on of Wit & Wisdom ‘Ab’solution pants + jeans (not as in love with the name as I am some of the styles, but alas.) Christian Tshirts

Let me just say ALL of these jeans + pants have the supportive waistband I’m raving about. So if they are your style, they are gonna be so comfy in that respect. But some of the styles and lengths were just not quite right on me.

Others were though! Let’s get into a run-down. Oh, and all of these are under $100, if not less! Sweet, dudes. Some are also offered in petite sizes, but they seem to sell fast. I have found that they tend to restock all of their best selling options regularly, which is great.

As much as I kinda hate the name, I LOVE the fit and comfort this waistband offers on each of the pairs I tried. It’s a nice wide, stretchy, supportive band inside the waistband of each jean.

But no worries, they’ve not got the ruched-elastic look anywhere on the pants, so you still get that sleek look all around. If you’re a fellow Gen-X’er, you remember how ugly comfort pants for moms in the ’80s used to be. These are not those LOL.

Pros: I pretty much love everything about these cargo pants…the fit, the waistband, the color, the fabric (soft and drapes well, but isn’t swishy) not to mention the price is right. The fit is true to size and so comfy. They feel like they’ll relax just a bit with wear, but not stretch out and get baggy. Will report back!

Cons: Not many cons here honestly. It might be cool if they could convert to joggers with a bottom drawstring, but honestly, I would probably wear them this way most often anyway. Size up if between sizes for a little more room in the butt or hips. I need these to relax the tiniest bit, and I feel like they will.

Top (M) | Jeans (8) | Sandals | Similar Bag

Pros: All of it. They’re soft but not thin, have a great comfy waistband like I’ve mentioned and have a rad style for this year that feels on trend without being tricky to wear or style. TTS. The best. They give a little bit with wear but don’t get baggy at all.

Cons: I don’t want to wash them yet because I wear them so much! I could see them not being quite long enough for taller peeps. I’m 5’4″ and like them with a platform but can still wear them with lower shoes, too, with a little puddling.

Tee (M) | Jeans (8P) | Shoes

Pros: This pair of dark wash jeans is so well-made. They feel supportive all over. A dark wash like this is super classic and would look lovely with any springy/summery tops. These could easily go to a casual office, as well. True to size. High waisted but not squeezy. This is the only pair I tried in Petite. I’m 5’4″.

Cons: This wash and style aren’t exactly my sporty, edgy, eclectic vibe but they feel so great on. If I need a nice jean for the office these would be it.

Pros: The fit, the stripes and the button detail on these are so good. I do wish they had a wider leg overall, but they’re cute! True to size for a fitted fit.

Cons: Pretty sure these are mislabeled and should be called flares, like the white pair below. They are the same exact cut. They’re not totally my style (I’ve never been super into flares) but they’re making me consider whether I should be! LOL. I feel like my pal, Em, needs these!

Pros: Well-made and the cargo style is on trend. Fit is good.

Cons: There’s something just not quite right about these and the fabric isn’t very soft, compared to the other pairs. See more below.

Feelings, cont’d: I even tried them with a different shoe to see what I thought, but no. Still not quite right on my frame. Should they be shorter? Longer? Idk. I think I’m tired of this pant style for now. If I want a utilitarian pant these days, I’ve been wanting it in ivory or a fun color. And I need them to be longer, I think.

Tee (M) | Jeans (8) | Similar Heels

Pros: They look cute with heels and the denim is very soft and comfortable on. Maybe size down in these? Idk. They feel like they’d stretch out with wear more than some of the others I tried.

Cons: These just seemed cheaper than the rest, even though they are very soft. If this is your style, I don’t think you’d be unhappy. I just rarely wear a wash quite this color and again, I feel like the length is just a bit off for me. I’m getting used to long styles.

Tee (M) | Jeans (8) | Similar Heels

Again, I tried them with a flat sandal to see if they were versatile, and I don’t think they are for me.

Pros: Super cute button detail on this white pair of jeans, but they still have a regular front closure which is nice. For white jeans, these are a solid choice. The pockets show some, yes, but honestly I’ve only ever tried on like 2 pairs of white jeans that didn’t (Madewell was one of those.)

Cons: Like I said above, flares just aren’t my style. And on that note, neither are white jeans! but I continue to try them LOL. I love a natural/ivory color jean instead, usually in a barrel fit or a wide leg.

If any of these jeans are your jam, please give them a go! I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised at how comfy the waistbands are (have I mentioned that enough? LOL.) Hope this was informative for ya if you too need emotional support waistbands. xoxo

Come say hey over on my Instagram…for more style stuff, food stuff, travel stuff and pet stuff. xo

Those flare jeans are outstanding! Love the longer length and the stripes are all the good things!! This human gives 11/10!

Sweet! So glad you love them!

How I ran to get the pinstriped flares! Can’t wait to try them!

How crazy is it that the things we think are “not our style” turn out to be so sensational?? It’s a great example of why it’s good to leave the comfort zone on occasion (did you keep them?)
