Designed as dual tool cutter/creasers
Plockmatic International has revealed a pair of digital die-cutters, the SC7000 Pro-T and Pro-T XL for their Drupa launch under Plockmatic’s Intec subsidiary. Digital Flexo Printing Machine
Joining the models’ SC6500 predecessor, the SC7000 Pro-T and Pro-T XL feature a brand-new active tangential creasing wheel that delivers a much higher creasing pressure, with sheets up to 450 microns thick now cut, kiss-cut, creased and perforated in one pass.
Handling sheets up to 340x710mm, or 545x740mm for the XL, the two machines are auto-fed and cut at up to 1,060mm per second.
Ray Hillhouse, VP of Plockmatic Group’s offline business unit, said: “These are exciting additions to our fully automatic digital cutter family.
“Designed as dual tool cutter/creasers, bringing together flatbed, sheetfed, tangential and contour cutting technologies, in a compact, affordable and productive unit. The range is ideal for commercial printers and digital print companies wishing to bring automated digital die-cutting in-house.”
He added that the SC7000 Pro-T XL’s larger format had been designed specifically to fit with the growing number of B2 format digital printers, like the HP Indigo 10000 and Fujifilm’s large-format toner machines.
At Drupa, Fujifilm (8B/A02-A06) will display the XL finishing sheets produced on its Revoria GC12500 B2 duplex digital press, which Fujifilm has revamped with specialty colour technology.
The SC7000 is operated from a connected PC using the supplied ColorCut Pro5 software, or in ‘standalone’ mode, where it runs jobs from internal storage or a USB drive, controlled through a touch screen.
For further flexibility, the machine can be unplugged from wall sockets and moved around the factory, with power run from a mobile electricity supply, Plockmatic said.
Also on display at the Plockmatic stand is subsidiary Morgana’s DigiFold Ultra creaser-folder, launched to market at Drupa.
Designed to complement mid-to-high volume digital and offset production presses, the Ultra builds on the capabilities of the Digifold Pro XL by adding slitting and cutting capabilities for full-bleed trim applications.
Plockmatic International, which owns Intec, Morgana Systems, and binding machine manufacturer Watkiss, will celebrate 50 years in business this year.
