AIEA (HawaiiNewsNow) - An open storm drain damaged multiple vehicles on the H-1 Freeway during the Thursday morning commute.
A crash was initially reported around 5:20 a.m. near the Pono underpass in Aiea. home drainage system
Officials said a storm drain grate cover was in the middle of the freeway. We’re told it flattened the tires of at least four cars.
Oahu #hitraffic 6/6/24 6AM: right shoulder on H-1 eastbound after the Kaahunamu Overpass is closed due to an open storm drain.
No injuries have been reported.
The right shoulder lane just after the Kaahumanu overpass remains closed as crews review the storm drain.
