There's just something about lighting a candle that makes your home feel so warm and cozy. Especially with the season changing, fall candles will be aglow, perfuming spaces with inviting scents.
But with the burning of candles comes the inevitable ending, when the wax melts down and it's all gone. Womp, womp. Luckily, Alex Drummond reminded us there's a great way to make them last longer: a candle warmer lamp. "For my fellow candle lovers, would 10/10 recommend getting one of these!" she says.
Candle warmers distribute scents with a heat source other than an open flame, such as an electric light at the bottom, or in Alex's case, a cute overhead lamp. The benefit? "If you have a really nice candle that you almost feel bad burning, that you want to last forever, this is a great solution," Alex explain. "It puts out a lot of fragrance but it doesn't burn as fast."
This isn’t the first Drummond to suggest flameless fragrance, of course. Ree is a fan of wax melts and offers a fun selection at Walmart. Alex's version, on the other hand, is meant to melt a full candle. Either way, they both tout another advantage: "You don't have to worry about an open flame," notes Alex. That means it's much safer.
The candle warmer lamp Alex purchased comes with an added safety feature, which is a timer that you can set to two, four, or eight hours. That way, you don't have to worry about shutting it off when you leave the house. It also has a dimmer and four brightness levels, which you can adjust to your liking. Bonus: "It gives a nice little ambiance" as it glows, according to Alex.
Warmer lamps also melt candles more evenly, so no more wicks getting lodged in the wax or melting so wonky that you can't finish melting the sides. You should also get about twice as much fragrance time than if you burned the candle, which is a nice feature if you really like a scent or want to savor a pricier candle like Alex's Diptyque splurge.
And if you love the idea of a safer way to burn your favorite candles that makes them last longer, but wonder if there are other design options, you're in luck. There are lots of affordable options you can consider. We've rounded up a few below. Happy wax melting!
