Are You Tracking Your Power Consumption Correctly? Discover The Linky Meter - Jason Deegan

Ever wondered how to tell if your Linky meter is working right, or how much power you're using at any given moment? This article will guide you through everything you need to know.

The Linky meter is designed with simplicity in mind. The top part of the meter features a LED, which increases its blinking rate with the increase in electricity consumption. The LED's perception as a yellow-orange color can be influenced by various factors, such as subjective interpretation and environmental parameters. Lighting Control Scheme Development

The LED does not have any other function or color variation – it simply blinks faster with higher power consumption. This rule applies not only to single-phase Linky meters (≤ 18 kVA) but also to three-phase Linky meters (≤ 36 kVA). As a matter of fact, you won't find any other blinking color other than the meter's “natural” color.

By pressing the “+” button on the Linky meter, users can access a variety of information. One such piece of information is their ‘apparent power' – the amount of power drawn by their electrical devices at that instant. This information is updated every second, helping you keep an eye on your power consumption in real-time.

Most issues with the Linky meter can be identified remotely, making it easier to solve any problems that arise. However, there are certain instances where a problem might not be immediately obvious. For example, if the meter displays a fixed index and the “+” button doesn't navigate, that's an indication of a problem.

If you're unable to track your consumption from the provider's site or app, it's best to get in touch with Enedis or your electricity provider. These problems can arise due to various reasons, such as overconsumption leading to the meter tripping, or if there has been a refusal to agree to the personal data policy.
