There’s something satisfying about harvesting your own tree for the holidays to bring home and festoon with decorations. Snow Mountain Ranch, YMCA in Granby offers a festive Christmas tree experience.

Overnight guests can cut down a tree for free, or anyone can stop by for the day and purchase a $29 tree-cutting ticket. The experience starts the day after Thanksgiving on Nov. 24 up until Christmas day, Saturdays and Sundays only.  Diy Pine Garland

Those staying overnight will receive a tree-cutting ticket upon lodging check in. Day visitors purchasing a ticket will also receive one activity day pass.

Guests can visit the program building, present their ticket and pick up all the tools needed to cut down the perfect Christmas tree. Snow Mountain Ranch will provide hand saws and twine so guests can cut down their tree, then strap it to their car. Guests are welcome to bring their own tools; however, chainsaws and other electric tools are prohibited.

All of the ranch’s trees are lodgepole pines. They typically grow with straight trunks that make it easy to place straight in a tree stand. They also have a great fresh pine scent that will make your home smell like Christmas. Their branches are a little bendy, so they are best for lighter ornaments and decorations.
