Experts break down the benefits.
No doubt you’ve worn your fair share of facial sheet masks, and you might have even tried under eye patches, butt masks, or those viral foot peel booties that give you baby-soft feet. Overnight hydration gloves are perhaps less common, but these simple skincare products pack a slew of beauty benefits. Motorcycle Gloves
“Nighttime is our time to reset and we're sleeping anyways, so why not treat our hands while we are at it?” says Christina Uzzardi, a Los Angeles-based esthetician and founder of Cheeks+Co. “Our hands get regular UV exposure and are the first to show signs of damage so it's smart and effective to give them the TLC they deserve.”

Overnight hydration gloves come in a variety of styles, but all serve the same purpose: to nourish and moisturize the skin on your hands and fingers while you catch some Zzz’s.
There are reusable gloves—like Kitsch’s adorable Moisturizing Spa Gloves ($23, Kitsch) and Earth Therapeutics Aloe Moisture Gloves ($10, Amazon)—that feature insulated linings that help trap moisture. To use them, simply apply your favorite hand lotion, serum, or moisturizer, then wear the gloves overnight.
You’ll also find disposable overnight hydration gloves akin to traditional sheet masks, which come fully loaded with moisturizing, nourishing ingredients. For example, there’s Aveeno’s Repairing CICA Hand Mask with Prebiotic Oat and Shea Butter ($3; Amazon), Aquaphor Repairing Hand Masks ($5; Target), and Voesh’s Collagen Gloves With Argan Oil ($6; Voesh).
The former are a bit easier to wear overnight, but both provide tons of moisture to the delicate skin on your hands that’s prone to aging.
Anytime you take a sec (or a full eight hours!) to nourish your skin, that’s a good thing. We spend so much time pampering our faces, that our hands often end up a bit neglected. Overnight hydration gloves ensure your hands—which are prone to signs of aging due to sun exposure and thin skin—get the TLC they need.
True to their moniker, overnight hydration gloves excel in moisturization. “They are super effective at hydrating because they lock the moisture in,” notes Tara Adashev, APRN, a nurse at Neinstein Plastic Surgery. By wearing the gloves overnight, your skin reaps way more of the hydration reward compared to simply applying lotion.
“I love when these products contain shea butter and vitamins C and E,” says Adashev. “Shea butter and vitamin E are great for hydration, and vitamin C helps brighten and prevent sunspots.”
You don’t have to wear overnight hydration gloves only at night. You can keep a pair of reusable cotton gloves in your car to wear when driving. This protects your hands from sun exposure, which minimizes signs of aging over the long term. (Just make sure you’re wearing SPF underneath for when you take them off).
Obviously hydration gloves keep our hands soft, smooth, and plump, but there’s the added bonus of encouraging us to slow our roll (and scroll). “They force us, in a very technology driven world, to slow down, put our devices down, and zone out,” Adashev says.
