TEA-LOVERS have been left devastated after noticing a major PG Tips change.
Amy couldn't figure out why she hasn't been able to find any of the brand's pyramid tea bags in stores. Tea Packings
So she took TikTok to ask others if they'd experienced the same shortage.
"Surely you've all noticed this too?" she asked, as she showed the shelves with huge bare areas.
"Where are all the PG Tips pyramid bags? They've been missing since about October.
"Are you facing this same dilemma?"
"Where have all the PG tips pyramid teabags gone?" Amy captioned her TikTok video.
"They’ve been missing off the supermarket shelf for months now!"
People were quick to comment on the clip, with one writing: "They don’t make them anymore!"
"WHAT????????" Amy replied.
"They have been discontinued, they now have the 60 second tea bags," another said.
As someone else wrote: "I've got 4 boxes left, wonder should I put on eBay?"
"Long gone, have you not seen the new advert the square ones are better," another commented.
"Missing along with the shiny Quality Street wrappers," someone else joked.
"Oh yeah now you mention it … I just assumed I’d picked up the wrong box!" another said.
"They stopped making them, official line is that regular bags brew just as well, so saves money," someone else commented.
"Yep they gone! Me n me mum searched everywhere then done a google search and they’ve stopped them," another added.
"New tech means they went back to flat square bags, sad times," someone else commented.
PG Tips first launched their tetrahedron-shaped Pyramid Bags in 1996.
They said at the time that the bag shape allowed the tea leaves move more freely - creating a better infusion.
"The PG Tips pyramid tea bag gives the tea leaves 50% more room to move around than a flat conventional tea bag," they wrote on the teabag packaging back in 2011.
"So the tea bag works more like a miniature teapot.
"This allows for all the freshness to be released for the best-tasting cup of PG."
However, last year, PG Tips announced the upcoming release of their quick-brew teabag - which makes the perfect cup of tea in just 60 seconds.
But the introduction of "the market's only square tea bags" came at the cost of discontinuing the pyramid bags.
