Bright annealing induction furnace surface-treats stainless tube to 0.625 in. OD

Ajax Tocco Magnethermic recently shipped a bright annealing induction furnace to a stainless steel tube manufacturer. The system progressively heats the stainless steel tube to high temperatures in an atmosphere of inert gases and then anneals the tube in a cooling chamber to reduce steel hardness to achieve ductility for further processing.

The system, which uses the company’s 75-kW Pacer T IGBT induction power supply, can process tubing from 0.25 to 0.625 in. OD with a ready-to-ship surface finish. Wire Drawing Machine
