Absolent Filtermist Expands To Pune

In a move aimed to boost operational efficiency and to better serve customers in the south and west regions of India, Absolent Filtermist has extended its footprint to Pune. The expansion, initiated in June 2023, include the establishment of a new office and warehouse. This location is set to serve as both the head office and primary warehouse for the Absolent and Filtermist brands of industrial air filters.

Absolent Filtermist India Pvt Limited, a fully owned company of the Absolent Air Care Group, operates from New Delhi, Pune & Bangalore, serving as the local representative in India for products manufactured by group companies. These products, including premium filtration for oil mist and oil smoke, centrifugal oil mist collectors, dust extraction equipment, and industrial vacuum cleaners, contribute to maintaining clean and safe workplaces.   centrifugal inline fan

Absolent Air Care Group APAC President Andreas Johansson has a long-term strategic vision for a permanent and local presence in India to provide full local support and deliveries to all Indian customers. “The Indian market is very dynamic and one of the fastest growing in the world at the moment,” Mr Johansson comments. If left in the air, particulate matter including oil mist particles, dust and fume can be hazardous to health. It can also damage sensitive electrical equipment and can pose other risks including fire and slip hazards. Occupational illnesses including asthma and cancer have been attributed to past exposures to polluted air in the workplace. Using effective extraction can also save customers money by helping to maintain component quality and lower cleaning costs.

Manufactured in the UK since 1969, Filtermist oil mist collectors are globally known for effectively eliminating oil and coolant mist, steam, and fumes from workshop air, and are trusted by leading manufacturers in over 60 countries. Every new Filtermist unit comes with a 5-year warranty as standard, offering customers complete peace of mind.

Operational in India since November 2018, Absolent Filtermist has rapidly gained ground in the market, securing a notable 25-30% market share in direct-mounted/stand-mounted oil mist filters. One of the best and most energy-efficient solutions for contaminated processed air in the most complicated applications is provided by the industry-leading brand Absolent. Absolent was established in Sweden in 1993 and now works with customers around the world.

The newly established warehouse of Absolent Filtermist in India at Pune spans an impressive 9000 square feet, with a carpet area of 7000 square feet, solidifying its position as the master warehouse for all supplies originating from Pune. This centralized approach is expected to streamline logistics, reduce lead times, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency. Andreas Johansson recently welcomed Satish Mahajan, Country Manager at Absolent Filtermist, to the Indian team. “With a wealth of experience and a proven track record, Mr Mahajan brings a strategic vision to the company’s operations. His leadership is expected to play an important role in driving Absolent Filtermist’s growth in India,” Andreas Johansson says.

“Many leading Indian organisations trust Absolent’s products and solutions to keep the air in the facilities clean and safe to breathe. Absolent’s success is thanks to its commitment to clean air, product quality and the ability to offer low life cycle maintenance costs – making it a preferred choice for numerous OEMs, machine tool manufacturing companies, leading automotive and aerospace manufacturers, electronics manufacturers and many more”, shared Satish Mahajan. The Pune expansion aligns with Absolent Filtermist’s goal of being closer to clients to ensure improved service delivery. Pune, with its central location, not only minimizes transportation costs, but also provides a strategic hub for efficient distribution to south and west India.

Absolent Filtermist’s success in India is evident in the fact that it has secured such a significant market share within four years of initiating direct operations in the country. The company’s oil mist collector units, also known as oil mist eliminators, are used in applications across various industries, including aerospace, automotive, food processing, and medical device manufacturing. In addition to the Pune expansion, Absolent Filtermist has introduced several initiatives to further enhance its services. Notable among these is the availability of direct purchases from the company or through approved distributors. This ensures that customers receive genuine Filtermist and Absolent units, spares, and consumables – safeguarding against non-genuine products in the market.

A noteworthy addition to the product lineup is the Thunderbolt range of Electrostatic Precipitators (ESPs) from Group company Diversitech. The Thunderbolt OMU 600, OMU 1000, and OMU 2000 models cater to industrial processes involving neat oil at high pressures. What sets these ESPs apart is their minimal energy consumption compared to others in the market.  The company is also offering Annual Maintenance Contracts, providing customers with ongoing support for their Filtermist products.    As part of its commitment to customer education and support, Absolent Filtermist has established specialized training stations. These facilities are designed to empower application engineers, service technicians, and maintenance engineers with the knowledge and skills needed to deliver optimal solutions and stick to installation and maintenance protocols.

Looking ahead, Absolent Filtermist is gearing up for additional projects and initiatives. One of the anticipated developments is the launch of dust collectors and fume extractors in 2024 or early 2025. This move is in response to the increasing demand from existing customers seeking efficient solutions for dust and welding fumes. While specific details are still under discussion, the company remains committed to expanding its product offerings to meet evolving market needs.
