Tramac Equipment is expanding westward in Canada, with a new location in North York, Ontario.

The new location features a sales office, parts warehouse and a large workshop to complete local service and repairs.  excavator rock drill

“Our newest location is now open in Toronto and enables us to support the Greater Toronto Area with sales, parts and service support, with hands on local technicians and sales staff,” said Shaun Brown, Sales Manager at Tramac Equipment.

“The ability to stock inventory is key, as well as the ability to troubleshoot issues with customer carriers with adjustments and start up support.”

The North York location joins Tramac’s existing locations in Laval, West Montreal, Quebec City, Kingston, Ontario and Landing, New Jersey, serving the construction, mining, recycling and demolition industries.  Tramac was established in 1967 in Montreal and is the exclusive distributor of Montabert products in Canada.

Today, the company offers a full line of demolition attachments, including hammers, drills, processors, pulverizers, grapples, shears and compactors.

Tramac is one of the oldest manufacturers of hydraulic hammers via its production facility in West Montreal, offering more than 30 different models for excavator classes from 1 ton to 120 tons.

“Tramac is known for its large selection of attachments available. Also, a large well stocked parts inventory,” Brown said.

In the 1970s, Tramac began manufacturing hydraulic drill attachments. The following decade, Tramac introduced hydraulic compactors and developed a pedestal boom system for mining and quarries, which is now sold worldwide. In the late 80s, Tramac developed the first variable speed hydraulic hammers.

“Our model V32, 5,000 foot-pound class, full variable speed hammer is our flagship model,” Brown said. “It was originally manufactured in 1987, with some still working since then, and it is considered a very long-lasting model with great production.”

Tramac Canada was acquired by Montabert in 2022. As one of the top global Montabert breaker distributors for more than 50 years, Montabert retained the brand as its Canada-based distributor and continues to operate Tramac as a standalone business.
