DuPont (trademarked) Tyvek (registered trademark) 400 Dual TG provides a head-to-toe frontal barrier against dangerous chemicals in electric vehicle (EV) battery production and other manufacturing environments. The garment also enhances breathability, improving comfort for workers wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) over long shifts.

EV battery production is expanding, with 33 gigafactories under construction across the EU and the UK. The European Battery Alliance has committed €3.5 billion to new EV battery research and production.

We know that uncomfortable PPE can lead to fatigue, contributing to workplace injuries

Protecting workers at the forefront of this growing industry is critical, now more than ever. Workers in other sectors, including chemical manufacturing, face similar risks. Prolonged tasks like mixing or handling chemicals and paint spraying require protection against hazardous fine particles that's also comfortable to wear.

DuPont Tyvek 400 Dual TG is a two-piece solution, unlike most disposable protective garments.

The coverall combines highly protective Tyvek fabric and breathable Spunbond Meltblown Spunbond (SMS) nonwoven material.

The more exposed frontal section keeps wearers safe from water-based, aerosol, and solid airborne particles as small as 1 micron, meeting the highest standard for PPE (Category III - Type 5, 6). The less exposed back panel enhances comfort as it is permeable to air and water vapour.

"Safety is critical for workers at the forefront of the green transition, but comfort is equally important. We know that uncomfortable PPE can lead to fatigue, contributing to workplace injuries," said Figen Ersezer, EMEA Marketing Specialist at DuPont. “DuPont Tyvek 400 Dual TG provides the best of both worlds: optimal head-to-toe protection and enhanced comfort."

DuPont Tyvek 400 Dual TG advanced protection goes beyond the superior properties of its fabric. The coverall’s design helps protect the wearer from head to toe. The attached under gloves keep hands and wrists safe from skin burns when worn with outer chemical-protective gloves. The attached socks provide similar protection for ankles and feet.

The taped underarm seams improve upper body safety while minimising contamination in cleanroom environments.

Sustainability is another important feature of DuPont Tyvek  400 Dual TG. DuPont significantly reduced potential waste by eliminating individual packaging – each package contains 25 garments.
