API sets new standards with redesigned XD Laser and innovative Swivel Check

The specialist for advanced metrology solutions, Automated Precision, announced the release of its redesigned XD Laser and the all-new wireless Swivel Check. According to the company, these innovations mark a significant leap forward in machine tool calibration, delivering enhanced performance and user convenience.

Machine tools are the lifeblood of manufacturing. Much of quality control is dedicated to ensuring the accuracy of parts after they have left the machine. Proper maintenance and calibration of the machines, however, can help identify problems before they arise and save cost otherwise spent on rework, manhours, and scrapped parts. Fiberglasss Push Rod

API sets new standards with redesigned XD Laser and innovative Swivel Check

API pioneered advanced machine tool calibration with Dr. Kam Lau’s invention of the straight-line interferometer for axial measurement of CNC machines. API’s XD Laser remains the only machine tool calibration laser that provides 6DoF measurement data for all axis errors in a single setup. And that innovation continues in the next generation of MTC products from API.

The XD Laser has been redesigned to offer performance and ease-of-use improvements while maintaining XD’s unmatched measurement speed and accuracy. Key enhancements include:

The API Swivel Check measures and calibrates machine tool rotary axes, swivel axis, tilt tables, and pendulum axes. It is the only tool that can be mounted off-center of the rotating axis to measure swivel axes and trunnions without disassembling critical machine-tool components. Swivel Check utilizes a servo-driven motor in conjunction with an electronic level and precision rotary encoder to measure multiple parameters in a single set-up. Used in conjunction with the API XD Laser Swivel Check can measure table wobble on horizontal rotary tables.

The Swivel Check has been completely transformed to offer unparalleled convenience and performance in machine calibration:
