BROCKTON — The Brockton Fire Department helped rescue a raccoon Tuesday morning that was stuck inside a traffic pole at one of their stations.

After a short investigation, firefighters found a raccoon stuck inside a broken traffic pole, a hollow aluminum tube used for traffic signals, that the fire department was storing on their property, Fire Chief Brian Nardelli said.

Firefighters cut the pole and with the help of animal control officers, were able to get the raccoon unstuck with soap and water.
The racoon was relocated by animal control officers to a different part of the city.
"The raccoon was fine. He was pretty docile," Nardelli said.
