However, a couple of parents of students at a public Indiana college forced the axing of a class on bondage techniques, absolutely flummoxed that a seminar could include such sexually explicit material. Bondage Gear For Women
Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis planned to teach students “safe rope tying techniques” and other fine points of eroticism next Tuesday in the Hoosier handcuff symposium, but the parental objection forced them to abruptly yank the offering from the curriculum.
The “national rope presenter” named Fynch, whose bio boasts of PhD-level mastery of “basic negotiation, the anatomy of the arm, as well as the anatomy of the hip, groin, and upper leg” will have to find a new audience to teach.
The class, open to all students on campus, promised to introduce the basics of bondage and move past theory “to give you hands-on experience with safe rope-tying techniques”, noted The New York Post:
The Assistant Director of Health and Wellness Ryan Anderson was even involved, telling the Collegiate Commons that complimentary nylon would be provided and that he would be “walking around to assist” Fynch as students honed their skills.
But then parental ire smacked them back into reality. Entangled administrators were sent a flurry of emails from parents who questioned the use of public monies for bondage education.
“This is an outrageous and uncalled for use of public funds/tuition,” wrote one mom to IUPUI Chancellor Carol Anne Murdoch-Kinch, according to Campus Reform.
“With so many other urgent needs (mental/spiritual crises with our students) I find it abhorrent that the school throws this in the face of our students to legitimize something that conflicts with the school’s emphasis on student safety.”
One might argue that college students are sexually active adults and need to talk about real-world shenanigans at some point.
Anyway, the Indianapolis school’s Health and Relationship Week itinerary will still offer other sex-related classes, one of which offers free cookies and a chance to win sex toys.
