Interview with Lori Rappucci, president and owner
Q: How did you get involved in this business?
A: I saw a need for a sanitary, comfortable day spa with exceptional talent in the Parker/Lone Tree area. A day spa that effectively practices the utmost in sanitary practices in nail care, hair care, skin care and massage while providing exceptional service. That is what we do.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
A: What distinguishes us from other nail salons, hair salons and day spas is that we follow the highest hygienic practices in all of our services. Our staff is extremely friendly and talented. We use all brand name products in our resort-type services. Many of our products are imported from France and the Fiji Islands. We dispose of all files, buffers and other items after each use for hygienic reasons. Our spa is beautiful and calming inside and we have a liquor license and therefore sell different wines and top-shelf spirits for guests to enjoy while enjoying the services. We also have free WiFi and a large-screen TV.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
A: It is a wonderfully happy atmosphere and environment. Most guests leave feeling relaxed and beautiful. I enjoy helping people feel, look and be their best.
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
A: Our biggest challenge is helping guests understand why our prices for some of our services are a little higher than other businesses. I don’t really call them competitors because we are not trying to compete with them. Our facial, nail and body treatments are resort style and so are our products. Our facial, body and nail service products are imported from France and the Fiji Islands. You are not able to purchase these products at many businesses locally, but we sell and use them in our services.
Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
A: We do not have plumbing in our pedicure bench. Instead, we use large copper bowls that are scrubbed and sanitized after each guest. It is believed that soaking in copper is good for the immune system and also relieves joint pain. In addition, we have no plumbing for bacteria and fungus to get trapped in so our method is by far more sanitary than jetted or even non-jetted tubs that have plumbing. On another note, our spa is large and beautiful and may accommodate large parties. We also have lots of parking.
