MADISON COUNTY, Neb. (KOLN) - The Madison County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men on July 19 on suspicion of multiple thefts.
On May 31, a man reported a generator stolen from his business in Newman Grove. According to the sheriff’s office, the generator was recovered after another man traded his plasma cutter to 25-year-old Alexander Robak for the generator. In June of 2024, a riding lawnmower, a 27-gallon air compressor, battery charger and several other items were stolen from the Belina Feedlot located in Madison County.
On July 1, a second burglary took place at the feedlot. According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were called to the burglary and one person was arrested.
The sheriff’s office said it was determined that two people were able to flee the scene and evade law enforcement. While conducting interviews, it was reported that Robak was involved in the June and July burglaries, and 25-year-old Dylan Dykes was involved in the July 1 burglary.
A search warrant was obtained for both Robak’s residences. A search of Robak’s residence near East Second and Ash streets in Lindsay resulted in the recovery of an air compressor and battery charger, as well as a plasma cutter. At the other residence in Platte Center, a lawnmower was recovered.
Both Robak and Dykes were arrested on July 19 and charged with burglary and theft by receiving stolen property.
The men are scheduled to have a court hearing on July 30. Their bonds are set at 10% of $50,000.
