Exton, PA—DFT Inc., an industry leader in the manufacture of non-slam axial flow check valves for more than 70 years, proudly announces the release of its new TLW® Check Valve. The TLW® is a Tapped Lug Wafer style silent check valve specifically designed for use in horizontal and vertical installations for liquid, gas, and steam applications where exposed bolts are not suitable. “At DFT, we listen to our customers’ requests and take pride in helping solve issues or problems within their applications” says Jeff Kane, Sales and Marketing Director at DFT. “To address safety requirements and precautions in refinery and chemical applications, we were requested to engineer and manufacture a tight sealing, non-slam check valve. With its 1-piece solid body construction (to prevent leak paths) the TLW® has no exposed bolts, which could affect the integrity of the valve in the event of fire or corrosive environments. The TLW® Check Valve is the answer to this request, and we have included this in our full product line.” This check valve was designed for use in a refining industry application but is relevant for any industry where bolts are required not be exposed to fire or corrosion. As with all other DFT check valves, this silent check valve reduces the potential for reverse flow and water hammer and is designed for long life and low maintenance. The TLW® is a spring-assisted, center-guided check valve with a lightweight compact wafer-style design (fits between mating flanges), meets API 594 face-to-face dimensions, and its testing meets MSS SP-61 and API 598 (shell and seat). The valve is available in 2" to 24" line sizes, and it is constructed of A216-grade WCB carbon steel or A 351 CF8M stainless steel. Other alloys per ASME 16.34 are available by request. Standard trim materials include a stainless steel seat, disc, and bushing (optional soft seat seal available). The valve can be installed either horizontally or vertically and is compatible with steam, water, and gaseous media. Custom sizing is available for low flow applications. ABOUT DFT INC. Exton, PA—DFT® Inc. proudly announces its latest facilities expansion. The additional 10,800 square feet of facility space houses new equipment and an on-site training space. The expansion will support the company’s valve manufacturing capabilities using new machinery and inventory equipment, as well as incorporate extensive training offered to distributors as well as end users. A new inventory system, Modula Vertical Storage Retrieval System (VSRS), and two vertical turning centers with live tooling make up the additional equipment. The Modula VSRS Model ML75D clocks in at 18 feet high with 32 trays for inventory storage. The VSRS offers 1,224 square feet of vertical storage space in a mere 155 square feet of floor space. The additional equipment will decrease turnaround time for production as well as increase inventory made available in-house. The vertical turning centers with live tooling, the Doosan VTS 1620M and Doosan VTS1214M, offer 78 inches and 53 inches of maximum turning diameter respectively. The 1620M provides 61 inches of maximum turning height and 22,000 pounds of maximum turning weight, while the VTS1214M offers 32 inches of maximum turning height and 8,800 pounds of maximum turning weight. Two, five-ton overhead crane systems help maneuver stock and other items about the newly expanded warehouse, streamlining work flow and fulfilling customer requests more rapidly. A 31-by-32-foot training area and state of the art conference room now provides a larger space for additional training groups to learn and grow their skillsets in the valve and manufacturing industry. Trainings will be held twice yearly for check valves and twice yearly for control valves, which is open to distributors and end users. Sign up for one of these personalized, hands-on trainings by contacting your DFT® regional sales manager. Learn more about DFT’s products and capabilities by downloading a free copy of DFT’s Control Valve and Check Valve Catalogs. About DFT® Inc. DFT® has been making in-line check and control valves for more than 70 years, starting with a customer’s need for a small, metal-seated check valve that could be installed in any position while providing a tight shut-off. This spurred the creation of the Basic-Check® valve, followed by the development of the WLC®, DLC®, and other styles of in-line silent check valves. Whatever the size, pressure or piping configurations, DFT® has the right valve for the application. The Nozzle-Style BNC™ Check Valve Is Long Lasting and Low Maintenance Exton, PA—DFT Inc., an industry leader in the manufacture of valves for more than 70 years, proudly announces the release of its new BNC™ Check Valve, a nozzle-style, axial-flow check valve specifically designed to excel in high-pressure applications. Many natural gas companies and other power industries are now placing their pipelines below ground and are looking for a one-piece valve they can weld in and bury. The BNC™ Check Valve answers that demand with a precision nozzle-style valve that uses axial-flow technology to eliminate turbulence and prevent erosion and vibration. This design reduces downtime and maintenance costs and boosts capacity and accuracy. Additionally, the BNC™ Check Valve provides a critical service to the power industry because the valve's enhanced leak proofing under high pressure virtually eliminates acid and chemical leakage. The BNC™ Check Valve is a spring-assisted, center-guided, non-slam check valve. It has an in-line globe-style body with butt weld ends, with the seat integral to the valve body. The one-piece valve is designed for long life and low maintenance. Because it is welded into piping for service, the valve does not have any in-line maintenance capabilities. The BNC™ Check Valve's design meets API 6D and ASME B16.34, and its testing meets MSS SP-61 and API 598 (shell and seat). The valve is available in 10" to 24" line sizes, and it is constructed of A216-grade WCB carbon steel and other alloys per ASME 16.34 by request. Trim materials are carbon steel and stainless steel with a hard-faced seat and disc. The valve can be installed either horizontally or vertically and is compatible with steam, water, and gaseous media. Custom sizing is available. For more information about the BNC™ Check Valve and the rest of DFT Inc.'s products, please email dft@dft-valves.com or visit www.dft-valves.com. ABOUT DFT INC. Company Installs New Large-Capacity Doosan VTS 1620M Vertical Turning Lathe Exton, PA – DFT Inc., an industry leader in the manufacturing of valves for more than 70 years, is now able to machine and manufacture valves even larger than before, thanks to the new Doosan Puma VTS 1620M recently installed in the company's shop. DFT can machine bigger and more precise valve orders and cut ultra-large and ultra-heavy duty valves with higher reliability rates using the VTS 1620M, one of the biggest VTLs available. The machine has a 78.7-inch maximum turning diameter and a 61.3-inch maximum turning height capacity, and it features a large vertical turning center with a RAM head spindle. DFT will continue to guarantee perfect milling, drilling, and tapping on the vertical turning center as it benefits from the VTS 1620M's servo-driven C-axis control. Capable of moving vertically in 7.9-inch increments, the VTS 1620M's traveling crossbeam is hydraulically clamped to the vertical rails to keep the ram in the optimum position for machining. It all adds up to higher productivity, increased efficiency, reduced costs, and shorter turnarounds.
