Deep-Cut Band Saw: Brushless Motor

The DeWalt 20V Max XR Brushless Deep-Cut Band Saw has a cutting capacity of 5 in. by 43⁄4 in. and weighs 13.8 lb—1.2 lb lighter than the corded version. Able to cut a wide variety of materials, including strut, pipe and angle iron, and powered by a 5.0 amp-hour battery, the saw can make up to 149 cuts of 15⁄8-in. strut with a 14-TPI blade. The tool uses a standard 447⁄8-in. blade and has an integrated work LED with a 20-second delay. DeWalt; www.dewalt.com

The M18 Force Logic 600 MCM Crimper can make crimps in heavy electrical cables when operated one-handed. The battery-powered hydraulic crimper features a jaw design that aligns with the cable, ensuring a proper crimp. The tool’s hydraulics adjust during the crimp, reducing pressure to avoid damaging the cables. After the jaws cycle, they can be opened with a single button, allowing the operator to quickly move on to the next crimp. The Force Logic 600 MCM Crimper is compatible with Milwaukee’s wireless OneKey tool-management system, allowing telematics performance data to be gathered from the tool. The Pettibone Swing Speed 445F is designed for railroad work. With a front-load capacity of 10,000 lb and a side-load capacity of 8,000 lb, the 445F can lay rail, set ties and perform other rail-related tasks. It is powered by a 163-hp Cummins diesel engine that meets Tier 4 emissions standards. With 180° of boom rotation, the 445F can be used to thread out old rail and thread in new rail. An optional magnetic package allows for quick cleanup of ferrous materials and debris. Pettibone; www.gopettibone.com

Hydraulic Mini Crane: Compact Enough To Fit Through Doorways

The S1 Global Mobile Crane has a rated capacity of 1,950 lb and a hook height of 18 ft. Able to be used indoors or outdoors, the 32-in.-wide crane is small enough, when stowed, to fit through doorways and into elevators. It has 100 ft of cable, with a line speed of 25 to 30 ft per minute. The battery-powered hydraulic crane features a weatherproof onboard charger. While it has many of the same features as the S1 Standard mobile crane, such as fold-out outrigger legs and a pull-out water-tank counterweight, the S1 Global model has been updated with an integrated tilt alarm, rear brakes and dual-safety stops on the boom.
