Charger technologies are constantly improving. Charging speeds are becoming faster, the number of connections and charging power are increasing, but designs remain relatively mundane. UGREEN's Nexode charger diverges from the norm with its unique design. Shaped like an adorable robot, the Nexode features a screen displaying facial expressions that indicate its status: standby, fast charging, or fully charged. Additionally, UGREEN has equipped the robot with leg-like stands, allowing it to sit on your desk when not in use.
UGREEN incorporates GaN (Gallium Nitride) technology into the Nexode, making it exceptionally compact. GaN technology enables the development of smaller chargers that produce less heat and offer faster charging rates. The Nexode delivers 65 watts of power, making it easy to charge not just smartphones but also laptops.UGREEN Nexode – Dynamic Triple Connections power source
The Nexode has three ports: two USB-C ports and one USB-A port. The first USB-C port supports 65 watts, the second supports 30 watts, and the USB-A port supports 22.5 watts. These are dynamic ports that adjust their power output based on the number of connected devices. For example, when two devices are connected, the first USB-C port provides 45 watts while the second offers 20 watts. When three devices are connected, you get 45 watts from the first USB-C port and 7.5 watts each from the other two ports.
UGREEN states that the charger can detect and deliver fast charging for iPhones, Samsung Galaxy devices, and MacBooks, ensuring maximum charging efficiency. It supports PD3.0 and QC 3.0 standards for compatible devices. I tested the charger with the Galaxy S24 Ultra, and it indeed provided Samsung's fast charging.
A notable feature of the Nexode is its Trickle Charging mode, which maintains a full charge by supplying a small, steady current to the battery, preventing overcharging and potentially extending battery life.
24v ac adapter In summary, the Nexode is a 65-watt charger capable of simultaneously charging three different devices, suitable for both smartphones and laptops. It supports fast-charging standards, ensuring that devices like Samsung smartphones can reach their maximum charging speed (which is 45 watts, not particularly high). Moreover, it is compact and comes in a robot design with a display.
