Promising start-to-finish online design and ordering for plastic pouches and flow packs, for coffee and similar dry goods, the Bavaria-based company said it has opened an office in Chicago, with support representatives in the U.S. Production occurs in Bavaria, with shipping available worldwide.

“The idea behind Pouches.com is to offer to our worldwide customers custom-printed and sustainable pouches with fast turnaround times,” Pouches.com Sales and Marketing Manager Quentin Arnoult told DCN. “We want to make Pouches.com a globally recognized brand.”

At the Pouches.com launch party last month.

Current bag options include standing and flat-bottom pouches in different sizes and finishes of plastic film material, with or without zip closures, degassing valves or other features.

Material options include 100% recyclable polypropylene, or non-recyclable PET/PE plastic bags. The company does not currently offer compostable or bio-film-based products. The recyclable options have been independently certified by the European firm Interzero, according to the company.

Commercial customers can download templates from the Pouches.com website for laying out graphic designs. The online platform’s editorial services include automated review or human consultation on of color, image resolution, fonts and other technical aspects, as well as typos and info placement.

Arnoult told DCN that the company has been funded to this point by its owner and co-founder Frank Plechschmidt, who has run a digital printing company in Germany called Labelisten for over 20 years.

Pouches.com Co-Founder Michael Wey also has over a decade in the digital printing industry and is on Labelisten’s board of directors.

“We founded Pouches.com to simplify the custom packaging process,” Wey said. “Our platform gives businesses across the U.S. a fast, reliable solution that combines rapid delivery with excellent customer service.”

Pouches.com does not require minimum orders, although the price-per-unit reduces with higher volume tiers. Pricing is not published up front. With online payments, the company offers a standard 20-day delivery, with an additional fee for expedited orders.
