Stylish mum-of-one Fritzie Cencil refuses to stop wearing crop tops and mini skirts, despite being told by online trolls that it's 'inappropriate' for a 50-year-old
A mum who loves donning 'daring' outfits has hit out at trolls for slamming her style. Two Piece Outfits
Fritzie Cencil, 50, has always had a passion for fashion and enjoys wearing mini skirts, short shorts and crop tops - despite being told by haters that it's "not appropriate" for a person of her age. The mum-of-one says she wears the clothes for herself and believes "age doesn't define" her.
As a petite woman, Fritzie believes crop tops give her the illusion of having longer legs and she is always complimented by passersby on her figure. But trolls online aren't so kind. She said: "People say you can't wear that. It's not appropriate. I'll wear whatever I want as long as I look good in it. I wear clothes for myself."
The NHS worker grew up in a village in the Philippines where she was more restricted with what she could wear. Since moving to London in 2002, she has had more freedom in her appearance. "Back home, I couldn't wear the daring clothes that I'm wearing now," she said. "As the years go by confidence grows. That's why I'm quite bold now in my fashion."
Fritzie, who lives with her husband, finance worker Abel Cencil, 51, defines her style as "classy but daring". She said: "I spread my wings. I can wear what a 20-year-old can wear. I know it suits me," adding that she feels "comfortable with wearing a crop top and jeans".
Despite online trolls telling her that her outfits are not appropriate, Fritzie is often met with compliments in the street. She said: "Strangers come up and say 'Your outfit is just divine'. They say 'Your body is like a 20-year-old'."
She wants to inspire other women to be more confident in what they wear and believes you should "show your style, not your age". Fritzie said: "I'm 50 - I can wear things I want to wear. It feels liberating. Age is just a number. It doesn't define me."
The mum, who works out three times a week and eats a healthy diet, added: "If you look good, you feel good. It doesn't matter what size we are - as long as you know how to carry yourself. No one can tell you what to do. People should wear what they want as long as they are confident. Just because we have greying hair we're not going to be put in the box. I'm enjoying the journey of ageing."
