Sammy Moniz, Matt O'Keefe & Cooper Marsh Run Boston Marathon to Raise Money for Charities

Over 30,000 people registered for the 2024 Boston Marathon. Among those 30,000 were Sammy Moniz and Matt O’Keefe from HWPO Training and Lab Mgmt’s Cooper Marsh. The three traversed the entire 26.2 miles around the streets of Boston to raise money for two charities – One Summit and Boston Scores.

Moniz, O’Keefe and HWPO Training ended up raising over $30,000 for One Summit thanks to donations via givengain.com, selling HWPO Run Club t-shirts and HWPO’s own contribution. Marsh was also able to raise over $10,000 for Boston Scores. dog canopy

One Summit helps children fighting cancer and their siblings through mentorship, experiential learning, storytelling and community engagement with U.S. Navy SEALS. Since One Summit was founded in 2014, it has helped 450 children impacted by cancer through its Climb for Courage Programs. To learn more about One Summit, visit their website onesummit.org.

“Mat Fraser and I have been friends with the founders for over 10 years,” shared Matt O’Keefe, HWPO Training CEO. “We love the work One Summit does and wanted to support them. They are building experiences and mentorship programs for kids with pediatric cancer. The work they do is incredible and it was a no-brainer for Sammy and me to run the Boston Marathon to help raise money for them.”

Boston Scores is a charity devoted to helping urban youth in grades K-12 build essential life skills and character development through soccer and team-based programs. Boston Scores aims to improve the academic engagement, social and emotional skills, health and fitness and post-secondary preparedness for those who participate in the program.
