Cute Cat Sets House On Fire, Causing Damages Worth 11 Lakhs; Here's What The Owner Did Next - Culture

While speculations have been rife since the great Pyramids were built in Giza, that the clan of Batset would assert dominance over its human guardians, the veracity of the claim was without any merit (or proof) until. . .until Jingoudiao, a kitty in China’s Sichuan province, set a house on fire! Deliberately? We shall never know. The cat caused damage worth US$14,000 or about Rs 11.68 lakh! Owner of the golden British shorthair cat Dangan, changed her Douyin (Chinese equivalent of TikTok) account to “Sichuan’s most badass cat” in a strategic move to live stream the culprit kitty to “compensate” for the damage and financial loss (all in jest, though). On the fateful day of April 4, owner Dangan was engrossed in a mahjong game when he received a call from property management staff alerting her that the flat was on fire. She rushed back to find the blaze had razed the entire first floor of her loft. It so happened that Jingoudiao accidentally stepped on the induction cooker’s touch panel in the kitchen and turned it on. Firefighters found the kitty sneaking in one of the cabinets upstairs, covered in soot and ash, unharmed. A few days later, on April 13, Dangan made the arsonist Jingoudiao, sign a letter of apology with her paw prints and her fingerprints as well, and posted online, much to the delight of the duo’s followers.

TW: mention of animal abuse and graphic pictures

While you are here, there’s a group of monsters who torture cats for fun and stream online as well in China. Cats and dogs are also allegedly sold in wet markets and slaughtered live. Maybe you can join a similar protest as the one appended below in the last tweet to draw the attention of Chinese authorities.

This is happening every day in China and it is going completely unpunished. Authorities are aware and they do not care because it is legal. I repeat, it is legal to torture cats and dogs to death. So they do. #china #boycottchina #stopchinacattorture https://t.co/acuoN57YHq — Everydaycaturday (@Larousse90) April 29, 2024

Even if you don’t like cats, the barbaric behavior of torturing and slaughtering cats by Chinese cat abuse organizations is not tolerated by social norms! This is something that no one can forgive!🇨🇳🐈‍⬛We strongly urge China to enact a law prohibiting animal cruelty and an animal protection law!#StopChinaCatTorture# The world wants China to enact anti-torture laws pic.twitter.com/0fRVEUeTLu — fraise (@fraise_5) April 27, 2024

Shenzhen claims that it has legislated to prohibit cat & dog meat, but in fact, there r cat & dog meat for sale in wet markets every year.Cats & dogs r sold alive and then slaughtered on the spot, and the police choose to pretend not to see it. China‘s law is a joke.#China pic.twitter.com/Zae29f8SQV — samesama1 (@WU1325) April 29, 2024
