Aluminium extrusion manufacturer Keymark expands operation with new coating facility in Lakeland, Florida

Fonda, New York-based aluminium extrusion manufacturer Keymark Corp. has significantly bolstered its operations by adding a state-of-the-art coating facility in Lakeland, Florida. This expansion aligns with the company's strategy to enhance its offerings for the U.S. architectural and residential fenestration markets.

The newly inaugurated 76,000-square-foot facility features a cutting-edge chrome conversion-free, 25-foot vertical powder coating line. This addition complements Keymark's existing 40-foot horizontal wet/powder coating line, expanding its capacity and capabilities to meet growing market demands. aluminum extrusion shapes

With this new facility, Keymark's total production space in Lakeland now exceeds 330,000 square feet, a clear sign of the company's growth and potential. The expansion also contributes to the local economy by creating over 40 new jobs.

Keymark Corp.'s extensive services include die engineering design, aluminium extrusion finishing, powder and wet painting, anodising, and custom packaging, positioning the company as a key player in the architectural aluminium extrusion industry.

The demand for aluminium is poised for significant growth in the coming years, primarily fuelled by an increasing preference for eco-conscious solutions across various sectors such as transportation, infrastructure, energy, and food security. In the post-pandemic era, the aluminium extrusion market rebounded in almost all regions, with global extrusion usage reaching an estimated 31.5 million tonnes in 2023. The global aluminium industry faces significant challenges stemming from geopolitical crises, economic slowdowns in major economies, and soaring energy prices.

Aluminium extrusion usage in North America is estimated at 2.6 million tonnes in 2023 and is forecast to grow at 1.82 per cent per annum to reach close to 2.95 million tonnes by 2030. The US accounts for a major share of this usage in the region.

Extruded shapes account for about 80 per cent to 82 per cent of North American aluminium extrusion consumption, followed distantly by rods and bars (10 per cent to 12 per cent) and pipe and tube (8 per cent to 10 per cent).
