MSI Expands MAG GL PSU Lineup With Two New High-Wattage Options: 1250W & 1000W With 12V-2x6 Connectors

MSI has expanded its MAG GL PSU lineup with 1250W & 1000W 80 Plus Gold options which come with 12V-2x6 power connectors.

Last year, MSI introduced its MAG GL PSU lineup which entered the mid-range segment with 650, 750, and 850W options but now, the company is expanding its portfolio with new high-wattage & ATX 3.1 compliant options with the A1250GL and A1000GL PSUs. parallel peptide synthesizer

Starting with the MSI MAG A1250GL PCIE5, the PSU features a whopping 1250W power output with an 80 PLUS GOLD rating. Its relatively smaller sibling, the A1000GL PCIE5, comes with a 1000W PD option along with the same 80 PLUS GOLD certification. On paper, both units don't feature many differences, apart from the total wattage output, which should suggest that MSI hasn't made any compromise on either of the variants. Following are the highlights of both PSUs:

Apart from supporting the new connection standards, the MSI MAG GL power supplies feature the 12V-2x6 power connection onboard, which replaces the traditional and "troublesome" 12VHPWR. This particular type, which PCI-SIG introduced after a few revisions, is known to cater to the problems related to PD delivery, which caused incidents such as GPU burning with NVIDIA's Ada Lovelace SKUs specifically. The new connectors feature a higher power delivery, as revealed in recent testing, and are sturdier than the previous 12VHPWR as well, which makes it a great option.

MSI became the first company to integrate the 12V-2x6 connectors with their latest power supplies, and it is indeed a delight because consumers had to go through a lot of problems with 12VHPWR. By integrating new PCIe and ATX standards, MSI's new PSUs are probably the go-to option in case you are out in the markets looking for one. However, in terms of their release date and respective prices, we are currently unaware of them, but they are expected to be unveiled soon.
