GKN Hydrogen will jointly offer hydrogen solutions for the Chinese mobility infrastructure sector as part of a collaboration with ZYNP. Lanthanum Sputtering Target
Under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the global automotive supplier, GKN will market its metal hydride hydrogen storage solutions in China.
Initially, the two companies will jointly define strategically important application areas and install a demonstration system in the country, before they ramp-up distribution of the hydrogen storage systems.
“China is already a leader in the production and use of green hydrogen,” explained Guido Degen, CEO of GKN Hydrogen. “[The company] has already realised 26 projects worldwide and is consistently focusing on its presence in growth markets and the development of new storage applications.
“In our view, the partnership with ZYNP provides ideal conditions to achieve our goals both commercially and technologically.”
ZYNP’s Chairman, Delong Xue added, “The whole area of mobility infrastructure is very attractive and of great important. GKN Hydrogen not only supplies the safest storage technology but is also the most advanced in the industrialisation of its products.”
Both companies will exchange information intensively with immediate effect and will agree on appropriate actions.
Speaking to H2 View last year (2023), Jim Petrecky, GKN Hydrogen’s Vice-President Sales & Business Development, described the metal hydride system as a “safer, simpler and more versatile hydrogen storage solution.”

In December (2023), the company agreed to market its solutions in Japan as part of an MOU with Mitsubishi Corporation Technos.
The partnership will focus on the planning, construction and service of energy and hydrogen storage applications that help Japanese customers make their infrastructure and industrial facilities more carbon neutral.
