Korea Water Resources Corp. (K-water) has signed an agreement with SK hynix Inc. to supply ultra-pure water produced using domestically developed technology, South Korea’s state-run water agency announced on Sunday.

Ultra-pure water, which contains minimal impurities, is essential for cleaning contaminants during semiconductor manufacturing.
Until now, the industry has relied on foreign technology for its production.
K-water, in collaboration with SK siltron Co., has successfully developed a domestic solution for ultra-pure water production.
The agreement aims to ensure a stable supply of ultra-pure and industrial water to SK hynix, enhancing the global competitiveness of the country’s semiconductor industry.
