In recent years, the bathroom has undergone an evolution that has seen it move away from the dimension of a simple toilet service and be ennobled as a place of well-being, relaxation and body care. It is now an environment to be lived in, in which we can spend time looking after ourselves. It is therefore interesting to see how designers and companies interpret this attitude. One of the most intriguing projects in this sense stems from the collaboration between Kaldewei, a German brand that makes enamelled steel bathroom articles, and e15, a company specialising in furniture, accessories and lighting for the home and beyond.

Node of this intersection is Stefan Diez, a Munich-based designer who collaborates with both companies, and who has designed a new collection of bathroom furniture and accessories in oak wood and water-repellent leather.

A stool, a bench, a footrest and a bathtub bridge in oiled oak fulfil several functions. They are complemented by practical and intelligent accessories: a bag and a towel loop, which can be magnetically attached to the bathtub rim. The warm, natural surfaces of the e15-Kaldewei Collection thus add a touch of warmth to the bathroom, creating an interesting dialogue with Kaldewei's titanium steel enamel products, which are offered in unique colour palettes.

STOOL and BENCH are inspired by traditional wooden constructions, with handcrafted joints and finishes. The stool and bench are designed for the bathroom but also for other areas of the home. The foot board BASE has a dove-shaped structure that allows it to float and remain raised above the floor, allowing air circulation and better drying of the wood. The playful and essential BRIDGE bathing companion features a circular cut-out detail for better handling and the ability to keep a towel handy. POCKET and LOOP are accessories made of leather, treated with a water-resistant finish and equipped with invisible magnets, taking advantage of the fact that all Kaldewei pieces are made of enamelled steel.

Philipp Mainzer, creative and managing director of e15 comments on this unexpected but natural collaboration: “Kaldewei is an important brand with excellent production methods and extensive experience. e15 shares many values with Kaldewei. Both companies stand for cutting-edge design, high-quality materials, and sustainable production. It was therefore a natural step to develop a collection together.”
