Water pumps planned in Panama City Beach in response to influx of visitors to beaches

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Panama City Beach attracts thousands of visitors annually to the sandy white beaches.

With more people visiting, the city is continuing to grow. With all that growth in the blistering sun, people need drinking water. turbine pump

Bay County commissioners say they are selling the land on Pete Edwards Field to Panama City Beach. Panama City Beach officials are adding new pumps for water supply to the area.

”The beach had a need for increasing their pump capacities for the water supplies for the beach,” said Clair Pease, Bay County Commissioner. “Well of course the beach is growing, as everyone can tell, we have new roads coming in, so with new roads, we also need new water capacity, new sewer capacity, and this is one way they’re trying to get ahead of the game and getting this done is going to make sure that we have room for growth on the beach.”

The county will sell the land to the beach for around $900,000. The beach still has to acquire the land and get things ready for demolition and construction of the pumps.
