Central woman reminds residents to lock up after 3 motorbikes were stolen

CENTRAL, La. (WAFB) - A Central woman is warning people who live near the area to lock up their valuables after her motorbikes were stolen from her backyard.

“I’m just saying lock your cars, don’t leave stuff in them, and be alert,” Shelby Devillier said. moto suzuki 125 gn

Devillier says a group of thieves stole three motorbikes from the yard of her Central home while her and her family were away.

According to a spokesperson for the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, two of the bikes were found behind a dumpster in Baton Rouge and later towed. Devillier was left with a pricey fee to get her bikes from the towing company.

“So not only are we robbed of three bikes, we have to pay to get them out, so we were kind of victimized twice,” Devillier said.

This case is still under investigation.

Deputies encourage anyone with a motorbike to follow these steps to prevent becoming a victim: consider leaving them in well-lit areas, lock them in a shed or garage and consider purchasing a bike lock.

Devillier is offering a $500 cash reward for anyone who can locate her family’s stolen bike. You can contact her by email at shelby@taddalaw.com.
